Android developer

Your role in the team

• As an Android developer, you will develop our timr time tracking app for Android using Kotlin, with a particular focus on performance, stability, and user-friendliness.
• You take an active role throughout the entire development process: from ideation and conception to implementation and testing, up to the final delivery of features and the resolution of potential bugs.
• You analyze the existing architecture, ensure the app remains compatible with current Android versions and platform updates, and continuously optimize the codebase.
• You evaluate new Android technologies and assess their potential for our apps.
• You work with modern Android technologies and frameworks such as AndroidX, Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, or Room, and actively contribute to our build, testing, and release processes using Gradle and Google Play. This also includes app distribution, crash reporting (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics), and analyzing user behavior to continuously improve the stability and quality of the app.
• Together with product management and backend development, you will continuously develop our app and carefully document your work.
• You stay always at the cutting edge, continue to develop yourself, and also know how to use modern tools in the field of AI.

Our expectations:

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for Android apps, mobile technologies, and new developments in the Android ecosystem
• Familiarity with modern Android frameworks and technologies such as AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Room, Retrofit, etc.
• Good knowledge of the Android platform, its architecture, and best practices (Lifecycle, architecture concepts, performance)
• Enjoyment in implementing your own ideas
• Experience with Git and common Git platforms (Pull/Merge Requests, Code Reviews)
• Experience in automated testing (unit or UI tests)
• Good understanding of Web APIs and HTTP protocols
• Independent, structured, and precise way of working
• High quality awareness and strong problem-solving skills
• Team spirit, openness, and strong communication skills
• Good written and spoken proficiency in German and English.

Experience

• At least 2-3 years of experience in native Android development with Kotlin, optionally Java, in an agile environment.

Education

• Completed vocational training in the IT field (HTL, university, university of applied sciences)
