Broekman Logistics is a growing and ambitious player in contract logistics, focusing on long-term partnerships where we deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions. We do this within our three divisions: Forwarding, Contract Logistics, and Breakbulk Terminals & Shipping.

Within our Contract Logistics division, we work with dedicated teams focusing on specific end markets (PMCs), including Machinery & Spare Parts and Chemicals. Within this environment, the focus is on developing and realizing sustainable, strategic customer solutions where operations, processes, and IT are closely linked.

Within Contract Logistics, the Operational Excellence team is responsible for optimizing, standardizing, and future-proofing our logistics processes and supporting systems.

As an Application Architect, you are part of this team and are responsible for designing, monitoring, and optimizing the application landscape that supports our contract logistics operations. You ensure that our WMS & TMS (E2Open) and other applications function optimally, remain scalable, and align with both operational and strategic objectives. In your role, you report to our Manager Operational Excellence.

Your responsibilities as Application Architect

As Application Architect, you are responsible for the performance, continuity, and further development of the application landscape within Contract Logistics, with a primary focus on our Warehouse Management System (WMS) E2Open (formerly BluJay/Kewill). You combine a strong analytical ability with a focus on structure, standardization, and sustainable solutions, and translate operational needs into robust and future-proof IT solutions.

In this role, you act as the final escalation layer for complex issues within the WMS landscape and its connected systems. You quickly get to the core of problems and provide structural solutions instead of temporary fixes. Additionally, you play a leading role in improving and future-proofing E2Open and the surrounding applications that support our logistics operations.

You continuously monitor and improve the performance, stability, and availability of the WMS and associated systems. For changes, releases, or updates within E2Open, you ensure coordination within the organization, so that the continuity of operations is guaranteed. Furthermore, you design, validate, and improve functional and technical architectures within the WMS domain and ensure standardization across different locations and business units. You ensure that guidelines and standards are not only established but also actually applied in operations.

You translate business requirements into scalable and future-proof solutions within E2Open and the broader application landscape, and support implementations and migrations from an architectural perspective. Simultaneously, you are an important sparring partner for management and stakeholders and advise on IT developments and strategic improvement opportunities within contract logistics.

Finally, you actively follow developments within logistics and WMS technology, with specific attention to E2Open, and use your experience to help the organization with choices that contribute to a stable, scalable, and future-oriented application landscape.

Your profile as Application Architect

You are someone who is convinced of standardization and the importance of a stable and scalable application landscape. You get energy from solving complex integration issues and creating structure within a dynamic logistics environment.

Furthermore, you have:

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a comparable role within IT and/or logistics.
• HBO work and thinking level, preferably in IT or logistics.
• Demonstrable experience with the WMS and TMS system E2Open (formerly BluJay / Kewill).
• Experience with application management, architecture, and/or IT integrations.
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.

Finally, you are able to analyze, prioritize, and structurally solve complex problems. You are communicatively strong, convincing, and able to bring different stakeholders along in your vision.
