Application Architect

Project Overview:

Seeking an experienced Information Architect to design and implement enterprise knowledge graphs and semantic data structures to power AI-driven solutions, requiring expertise in metadata management, schema design, ontology creation, and data integration across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design ontologies, taxonomies, semantic schemas
• Build scalable knowledge graphs
• Map and normalize data across heterogeneous systems
• Define metadata standards and entity mappings
• Ensure compliance and governance alignment
• Architect data flows for RAG, semantic search, and LLM apps
• Integrate knowledge graph structures with OpenAI, LangGraph, Azure Cognitive Search, and other frameworks
• Optimize data indexing and embeddings
• Develop reference architectures and best practices
• Collaborate with architects and SMEs
• Define lifecycle management for schemas and ontologies
• Evaluate emerging tools/technologies
• Conduct POCs for scalable architectures

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Information Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related
• 5+ years in information architecture/semantic modeling
• Proven experience in knowledge graphs, ontologies, semantic schemas
• Expertise in metadata management, schema harmonization, and multi-application integration
• Experience with Azure Cognitive Search, Data Lake, Synapse, Azure AI
• Hands-on with OpenAI APIs, LangGraph/LangChain, vector databases, AI graph frameworks
• Proficiency with Neo4j, Stardog, Azure Cosmos DB Graph, RDF/SPARQL
• Familiarity with embeddings, RAG pipelines, LLM search/reasoning

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with enterprise KG tools (TigerGraph, Stardog, Anzo, GraphQL)
• Knowledge of data governance (GDPR, SOX, etc.)
• Strong communication bridging technical and business
• Prior work in large-scale AI/ML or digital transformation

Required Skills and Experience:

• Mandatory: Proven expertise in Information Architecture and its fundamentals.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in application architecture.
