Application Architect

About

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to support a large-scale healthcare technology environment focused on enterprise health applications, integration platforms, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

This role will support both operational and project-based initiatives involving solution architecture, system integration, platform optimization, and production support within a complex healthcare ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop architecture strategies to improve platform stability, resilience, and performance
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development and support teams
• Develop implementation, migration, and integration strategies
• Create and maintain solution architecture and system design documentation
• Monitor and optimize application and platform performance
• Support production systems and development environments
• Collaborate with stakeholders including project managers, vendors, DBAs, and support teams
• Develop proof of concepts and future-state architecture roadmaps
• Participate in troubleshooting, issue resolution, and after-hours support when required

Qualifications

• 20+ years of IT experience
• 15+ years as a Senior Programmer/Analyst or Application Architect
• Strong experience with:
  • Healthcare applications and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Rhapsody Integration Engine
  • EMPI solutions (Initiate / Infosphere)
  • Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Java and JavaScript
  • Integration architecture and enterprise application support
• Experience working within Canadian healthcare environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience with provider registry and clinical data repositories
• Knowledge of enterprise integration and interoperability solutions
• Experience supporting high-availability healthcare platforms

Education

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred

Work Location

• Onsite in Fredericton, NB
• Limited remote flexibility only if requested by the client

Contract Duration

• Initial 10-month contract
• Possible 1-year extension
