In this pre-sales role, you qualify customer opportunities by translating workflows into feasible solutions and clear proof requirements. You bridge customer needs, robotics capability, product constraints, and commercial goals to shape technical scopes. You will work with cross-functional teams to determine go/no-go decisions and hand off to execution once signed. This role sits at the intersection of technology, safety, and customer value, with a focus on turning pilots into scalable deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery with customer stakeholders
  • Break down use cases, workflows, and operating requirements
  • Capture site, process, safety, data, and integration needs
  • Assess fit against product capability and identify gaps
  • Identify unknowns, risks, dependencies, and required validations
  • Define technical win plan and required proof points
  • Estimate pre-sign effort and help shape scope
  • Assess third-party components and interfaces for end-to-end use cases
  • Distinguish standard vs non-standard asks and escalate roadmap decisions
  • Draft technical scope, assumptions and success criteria for internal docs
  • Provide joint go/no-go recommendation with Commercial and Product
  • Deliver complete handoff package for post-sign execution
  • Support evaluations and workshops that advance technical qualification
  • Feed field insights back to Product and Engineering to improve repeatability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering/Robotics/Computer Science/Mechatronics or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, machine vision, AI-enabled systems, or advanced manufacturing
  • Experience with proof-of-concept programs, pilots, or complex enterprise technical sales cycles
  • Familiarity with safety, deployment, and integration in industrial environments
  • Experience collaborating with third-party technology partners
  • Experience in application/solutions engineering, pre-sales, or customer-facing robotics roles
  • Strong ability to translate customer operations into technical requirements
  • Experience with industrial workflows and integration points
  • Practical assessment of technical feasibility over theoretical concepts
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Comfort working across Commercial, Product, Engineering, and external partners
  • Ability to make clear recommendations under uncertainty
  • Bias for clarity, speed, and disciplined scope definition
