Application Security Architect - Contract to Hire

Our client is seeking a Security Architect to design and implement enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture. This strategic role will shape their security vision, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with industry best practices across cloud, on-prem, and AI-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage enterprise security architecture across EDR, SIEM, WAF, firewalls, cloud, and on-prem systems.
• Lead development of secure integrations, RESTful APIs, and automated threat detection using AI tools.
• Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other frameworks.
• Drive incident response, threat modeling, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security across the tech lifecycle.
• Stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies to continuously strengthen security posture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT, including 5+ in cybersecurity and 3+ in a senior architect role.
• Hands-on experience with EDR, SIEM, WAF, firewalls, cloud/on-prem security, and AI-based tools.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, incident response, and enterprise security design.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Scripting/automation (Python, Bash).
• Experience in large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of privacy laws, data governance, and compliance.
• Familiarity with Express.js, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
