Our department, Combustion and Exhaust AfterTreatment System (EATS), is responsible for the global platform development of combustion and EATS systems for Volvo Group’s products around the world.

We develop hardware as well as the features and functionalities. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase.

Your Tasks

Be Brave, Will Be To:

  • Work together with an embedded software engineer within a combustion team
  • Develop Virtual Sensors using neural network algorithm
  • Develop simulation models combustion & After-treatment systems on MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Develop control strategies and embedded software using Model Based Development process
  • Evaluate Control strategies performances based on Model-In-The-Loop and Software-In-The-Loop validation environments
  • Capture and share knowledge with other sites
  • Adapt yourself to changes and develop performance continuously
  • Propose solutions to improve our system and way of working

Our "perfect" apprentice profile is (because we have to be serious as well):

  • Engineer with specialization in modeling of physical systems and control theory
  • Knowledge on thermodynamics and engine combustion process
  • Good practice of MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Interest for Model Based SW Development process and neural networks
  • Organized, rigorous, synthetic, autonomous and love working as a team
  • Daily work with other locations over the world makes English a must
  • Brave, curious, optimist and always smiling!
