Your Responsibilities

• Technical responsibility for the architecture and further development of distributed software systems.
• Translation of product and business requirements into viable architecture and design decisions.
• Definition and enforcement of architectural principles, coding standards, and best practices.
• Evaluation of technical alternatives (design trades, technologies, frameworks) and derivation of sustainable solutions.
• Close collaboration with product owners, QA, requirements engineering, and other architects and tech leads.
• Support and professional development of the development team, especially in complex design and architecture issues.
• Identification of technical risks (e.g., performance, security, scalability) and active management of appropriate measures.
• Technical coordination with external development partners as well as DevOps and infrastructure teams.

What You Bring

• Completed degree in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable STEM field.
• Several years of experience in software development with a focus on modern, distributed system architectures (e.g., microservices).
• Demonstrable technical leadership responsibility within development teams – even without a formal title.
• Very good understanding of architectural principles, scalability, performance, and software quality.
• Strong communication skills towards technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., defense, aerospace, medical technology) is an advantage.
