Job Description
POSTE SUMMARY
The incumbent will actively support and evolve the enterprise architecture vision by participating in the development of the long-term architecture strategy, governance guidelines, architectural models, frameworks, and industry best practices. As a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive business solution architecture as well as critical organization-wide technical direction and guidance.
The Business Solution Architect must possess a generalist background in telecommunications, with a deep understanding of Operations Support Systems (OSS) — covering inventory management, service activation, fault management, and performance monitoring — as well as Business Process Support Systems (BSS), including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Product Information/Catalog Management, Sales Order Management, Customer Support Management, and Technical Support Management.
Operating within an agile methodology, the architect will be embedded within squads, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of environments with various upstream and downstream systems. This role demands a focus on reliability, agility, and the creation of viable solutions that align technological capabilities with business requirements, in alignment with the end-to-end enterprise architecture strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Document and maintain comprehensive solution-level views illustrating how current business capabilities and functional requirements are effectively supported by the integration of people, optimized processes, and strategic technology assets.
- Provide expert guidance to business units and key stakeholders regarding emerging and existing technological capabilities, ensuring all business requirements are faithfully aligned with the end-to-end enterprise architecture strategy.
- Establish and define strategic technical targets for core business capabilities and functionalities, fostering an environment of reliability and agility within the organizational framework.
- Actively participate in architectural design and the creation of multi-year technical roadmaps aimed at achieving defined strategic technical targets.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and business analysts to understand, influence, and translate critical business requirements into robust, scalable solution designs.
- Bring deep technical expertise during product evaluations, lead integration specification reviews, and facilitate informed solution selection processes.
- Work synergistically with business systems analysts and a diverse group of architects (security, technical, network, and data) to develop project solutions that align with the enterprise’s strategic technical vision.
- Conduct rigorous project reviews to ensure compliance with established architectural standards, long-term roadmaps, approved blueprints, and governance guidelines prior to final solution approval.
- Maintain continuous awareness of industry trends and vendor developments, leveraging recent technological advancements to identify and enable new business opportunities.
- Adhere to individual and collective security standards by taking all necessary measures to ensure one’s own health and safety, as well as that of colleagues and the public, while strictly adhering to the company’s health and safety policies.
- Demonstrate constant attention and responsiveness to the needs of internal and external customers to support Cogeco’s commitment to excellence, ensuring technical solutions address issues professionally and promptly while meeting customer expectations.
