Haga Defense is a growing small business based in Towson, MD, specializing in high-quality firearms parts and accessories. As the owner/operator, I'm building the company from the ground up and looking for my first team member to help scale operations while contributing to product development.

Position Overview

We're hiring an Assembly & Shipping Associate to handle core day-to-day production and fulfillment tasks in our shop. This hands-on role focuses primarily on assembling products, packaging orders, shipping, and inventory management. When workload allows, you'll also have the opportunity to support new product development, including design, 3D printing, and prototyping of firearms parts and accessories. This makes it a great entry-level position for mechanically inclined individuals or aspiring product designers who want practical shop experience in the firearms industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble firearms parts and accessories according to specifications and quality standards
• Package, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Pack orders accurately and efficiently
• Manage inventory levels, restock products, and place orders as needed
• Transport packages to the post office or other carriers (reliable personal transportation required)
• Support new product development, including design, 3D printing, and prototyping when time permits
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Assist with general shop tasks and help improve processes as the business grows

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation (for regular post office runs)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills (shipping software, simple inventory tools, etc.)
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a small, growing company
• Availability Monday–Friday between 9am and 4pm

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

• Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or shipping
• Familiarity with firearms or shooting sports
• Experience with CAD/3D modeling software (e.g., Fusion 360, Rhino)
• Experience with 3D scanning, 3D printing and prototyping
• Knowledge of basic inventory management

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience and skills)
• General benefits: Paid time off (prorated for part-time), potential performance bonuses, and opportunities for growth as the company expands. Additional benefits may become available if the role grows into full-time.

This is a part-time position (approx. 20-35 hours/week) with the potential to grow into full-time as the company scales. Hours are flexible within Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm.

• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident) due to the nature of our products and potential ITAR compliance requirements for design-related work.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
