Assistant Controller

About the Opportunity

The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting activities, refining financial processes, and supporting accurate reporting across multiple entities and locations. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing hands on accounting work with team leadership and process enhancement.

What You'll Do

• Leading month end and year end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and cash flow processes
• Preparing financial statements, trend and variance analyses, and reports for senior leadership
• Partnering with operations, HR, and other internal teams to ensure consistent and efficient financial practices
• Strengthening internal controls and supporting scalable accounting procedures
• Assisting with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and system or workflow improvements
• Coaching and supporting accounting team members as a resource and mentor

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Yardi experience is required (no exceptions)
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a senior or lead capacity
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi entity accounting environments
• Background in service oriented, multi site, franchise, real estate, childcare, or similar industries preferred
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
