Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Director of Engineering located in Pittsburgh, PA. The Assistant Director will aid in managing the hotel's engineering operations, ensuring optimal maintenance and functionality of all building systems and equipment. Responsibilities include supervising engineering staff, conducting regular inspections, overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role also involves collaborating with other departments to maintain the overall quality and aesthetics of the property while enhancing guest experiences.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical operations
  • Leadership and team management skills with experience in supervising engineering or maintenance staff
  • Project management skills, including scheduling, cost control, and contractor coordination
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and environmental sustainability practices
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational issues
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or luxury hotel environment is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software for maintenance management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus
