About the role

Veteran Design & Construction, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and provides both professional design and construction contracting services to its clients. Veteran Design & Construction, Inc. is seeking a self-starting Project Management Assistant. The position’s primary responsibility is to work alongside the Project Managers to help ensure the construction projects run smoothly. Construction knowledge, computer and organizational skills are a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry, filing, copying, scanning and document management for the Construction Division.
  • Organize meetings, take meeting minutes, arrange travel, order supplies, and monitor job expenses.
  • Communicate with Vendors and Clients to identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made.
  • Work within schedules and plans of operation for projects in close consultation with the Project Manager.
  • Manage and maintain detailed and organized files, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Prepare written responses to routine enquiries, prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, emails, power point presentations, etc.
  • Prepare, submit and manage Certified Payroll.
  • Assist with RFP's, RFQ's, purchase orders and project close-out.
  • Ensure proper document record keeping and perform miscellaneous additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a construction office environment.
  • A.A. in Business Administration or equivalent experience, preferably within the construction field.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task a must.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of ProCore software a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
