We are seeking experienced construction professionals who are capable of taking ownership of project scopes and contributing at a high level within a fast-paced environment. Our projects include school renovations, hospital improvements, military base work, public facility upgrades, and other government-related construction projects. This position offers a clear path toward Project Manager for high-performing individuals.
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in managing construction projects from planning through closeout. This individual is expected to operate with limited oversight and take ownership of assigned scopes from start to finish.
This role is intended for candidates experienced in construction project management who can operate at a high level and are seeking to transition into a Project Manager role. Candidates should be capable of managing scopes or smaller projects independently with minimal oversight. This role requires a high level of accountability, urgency, and coordination across both office and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned scopes through the full project lifecycle, including closeout.
- Coordinate directly with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
- Track and manage project budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Lead coordination efforts between office and field operations
- Participate in client meetings and represent the project team as needed
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively
- Maintain accountability for scope, schedule, and budget performance on assigned work.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of construction or project management experience
- Experience managing scopes or smaller projects independently
- Experience with government, institutional, or commercial construction preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational ability
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work well with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
