Role Description

Manheim Township is seeking a qualified professional for the full-time role of Assistant Public Works Director - Engineering. This on-site position, based in Manheim Township, PA, will involve overseeing and coordinating various engineering projects and public works operations. Responsibilities include supervising the design, development, and implementation of infrastructure improvements, managing project budgets and timelines, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The Assistant Director will also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, oversee the preparation of reports and plans, and assist the Public Works Director in strategic planning and departmental operations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Civil Engineering principles, infrastructure design, and project management
• Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges efficiently
• Proficiency in utilizing engineering software and technology
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional engineering licensure preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including community members, contractors, and governmental agencies
• Experience in public works or municipal engineering is highly desirable

Salary Range

$92,000 - $106,000 plus comprehensive benefits package.
