Position Information
Temporary position until approximately August 1-st, 2026.
The Talent Acquisition Assistant has a key role within the Talent Acquisition team and has two main areas of focus:
- Provide administrative support for internal and external recruitment processes
- Responsible for full cycle recruiting of assigned portfolio (determining posting requirements, preparing job postings, screening candidates, conducting pre-employment due diligence, preparing offer letters, etc.)
The Assistant, Talent Acquisition ensures that the experience of hiring leaders and new hires is positive through employing a high level of client service and administrative skills and deploying knowledge of recruiting best practice.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, 8 hour shifts.
- As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, the incumbent may be required to attend occasional job fairs, outside of regular hours.
What You Will Do
The Ottawa Hospital has an exciting opportunity in our Talent Acquisition (TA) Team! Members of our Talent Acquisition team work collaboratively in a fast-paced and versatile environment, recruiting top talent for The Ottawa Hospital.
The Assistant, Talent Acquisition is a key member of the Talent Acquisition Team and is responsible for end to end recruiting for CUPE positions within The Ottawa Hospital. This position is client-focused and ensures that the clients' recruitment needs are met through each recruitment process. This includes determining posting requirements, preparing draft job postings, reviewing and screening applications, and preparing offer letters for internal transfers and external hires.
What You Will Bring
- 3 year college diploma in a discipline related to Human Resources (e.g. Business, Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, etc.)
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment;
- General knowledge of Hospital policies, rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of HR principles in Recruitment & Selection;
- Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel;
- Strong client focus;
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, high volume environment;
- Ability to work independently and to be a team contributor;
- Ability to work as part of a large, multi-faceted team within a strong unionized context;
- Solution-oriented and able to think critically;
- Good organizational and time management skills;
- Good analytical, judgment and problem solving skills;
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent customer service skills.
You will stand out with:
- Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
