About Us
Property Group specializing in the management of over 200,000 sqm of residential, retail, industrial and office properties based in Dainfern is looking for a structured, professional and proactive Assistant to support the Utilities Manager across multiple buildings. This role combines utilities monitoring, meter readings, tenant liaison, compliance tracking and operational coordination. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a hands-on property environment and professionally representing landlord management when dealing with tenants. Experience with electricity and water meter readings is essential.
Duties
Utilities & Meter Management
- Conduct electricity and water meter readings across buildings
- Capture and populate consumption data accurately
- Assist in identifying irregular usage trends
- Support generator and backup system monitoring
- Assist with reporting to management
Tenant Liaison
- First point of contact for tenant utility-related queries
- Assist in resolving electricity and water complaints
- Draft professional correspondence to tenants
- Communicate planned outages and maintenance schedules
- Escalate sensitive matters appropriately
Facilities & Operations Support
- Assist with planned maintenance scheduling
- Track breakdowns and response times
- Follow up on outstanding repairs
- Assist during emergency incidents (power failures, water leaks, etc.)
Compliance & Administration
- Track compliance certificates (electrical, service records, inspections)
- Assist during audits and inspections
- Interpret utility data and operational reports for management
- Ensure tasks are tracked and completed
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A formal qualification will be an advantage
- At least 3+ years’ experience in property, facilities, utilities or building operations
- Proven experience taking electricity and water meter readings
- Basic understanding of commercial electricity and water systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Valid driver’s license (essential)
- Must be willing to travel between properties
