Akkodis is partnering with a leading financial service regulator in Ontario to engage a Lead Infrastructure Architect to help shape and evolve a large-scale hybrid cloud environment.
We are looking for two senior‑level Associate Directors to join a Cash Front Office IT team supporting high‑availability, low‑latency, real‑time trading systems in the Capital Markets space.
This is a hands‑on Lead Java Developer role, ideal for experienced engineers who enjoy working close to the business, taking ownership of complex systems, and leading high‑performing development teams.
The Opportunity
As a Lead Java Developer, you will work on critical systems that support cash trade capture and processing. You’ll contribute to new platform development, enhance existing applications, and help drive engineering excellence across the full technology stack.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop distributed, low‑latency Java systems supporting cash trading workflows
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, raising technical standards and delivery quality
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Front Office users (Sales & Trading)
- Translate business needs into robust technical solutions
- Set best practices for performance, scalability, reliability, and code quality
- Provide Level 2 production support when required
What You Need
Must‑Have
- 15+ years of experience building distributed, multi‑threaded Java systems
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience with Java 17+ and Spring
- Solid understanding of event‑based / messaging architectures (e.g., Kafka, MQ, Solace)
- Strong relational database experience
- Ability to write clean, testable, high‑performance Java code
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Nice‑to‑Have
- Capital Markets experience (any asset class)
- Agile development experience
- DevOps / CI‑CD exposure (Git, Jenkins, JIRA, SonarQube, etc.)
