About the Company
We are working with a leading restructuring advisory firm in Germany, part of a global advisory platform, to hire an Associate into their Frankfurt team. The firm advises corporates, shareholders and lenders on complex distressed and special situations, with strong deal flow across mid- and large-cap mandates.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to high-impact restructuring situations.
Responsibilities
- Execution of financial and operational restructuring mandates
- Development of integrated financial models, including short-term liquidity (13-week cash flow)
- Contribution to independent business reviews and restructuring concepts (IDW S6)
- Involvement in StaRUG and insolvency-related processes
- Support stakeholder negotiations (lenders, shareholders, management)
- Work on distressed M&A / special situations transactions
- Close interaction with senior stakeholders, including CROs
Qualifications
- 2–5 years’ experience in:
- Restructuring advisory (preferred), or
- Financial restructuring teams within IB / consulting
- Clear exposure to distressed situations (beyond pure refinancing / debt advisory)
- Experience with:
- Liquidity modelling / cash flow forecasting
- German restructuring frameworks (e.g. StaRUG, insolvency)
- IDW S6 (strong plus)
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Fluent / native German (mandatory)
- Strong academic background
