The Associate Network Engineer is an entry level position. The Associate Network Engineer assists in designing and installing network solutions which may include wired and wireless. The Engineer will maintain the networks to industry standards and will monitor and report any outages to ministry stakeholders. The Engineer will assist with the creation of reports and documentation that will be used by management for planning and decision making. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Design and Implement Network Solutions

  • Assist with the design and implementation of networking projects.
  • Works closely with construction projects to ensure network needs are met for the business goals.
  • Will assist with outside vendors to implement networking projects.
  • Work closely with the InfoSec team when planning to ensure compliance policies and security standards are followed.

Maintain Ministry Networks

  • Assist with upgrades to the network equipment to maintain security and a highly available network.

Network Monitoring & Testing

  • Use industry standard tools to monitor for possible issues and outages.
  • Assist with planning intermittent testing of the networks to ensure reliability and meet SLAs.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Assist with the creation and audit of documentation of network designs, plans, maps, methods, procedures, problems, and repairs.
  • Use change management to document changes and reviews changes made to network equipment.
  • Use ministry procedures for reporting any issues and outages to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • FLSA Status - Scanning (Non-exempt)
  • Education Required: College Degree - Computer Science
  • Work Experience Required:
  • Physical Requirements and Skills: Customer Service, Detailed, Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, Group Problem Solving, Interpersonal Relationships, IT Networking, Microsoft Office, Office Equipment, Oral Communications, Organized, Standard field concepts, best practices, and procedures, Work independently, Written Communication
