Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.
What will you do?
We are seeking an entry level SAP HCM Solution Architect who will ultimately be responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture of Sanlam’s Human Capital technology landscape. This role ensures that SAP HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and related integrations are strategically aligned, secure, scalable, and fit for purpose, supporting current business operations while enabling future transformation.
The role bridges business strategy, HR process design, and enterprise technology architecture, translating complex business requirements into robust, sustainable SAP Human Capital solutions that comply with Sanlam’s enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks.
What will make you successful in this role?
Solution Architect:
- Business and technical stakeholder engagement and elicitation of business and technology goals, objectives, priorities and requirements.
- Translation of business and technical requirements into a solution architecture to be implemented (to address both business and technical requirements).
- Design and validate a complex solution architecture to address business and technical requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Design solution integration architecture to address business and technical requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Research new solutions to address a specific or general business problem.
- Provide solution advisory, recommendations and guidance on the SAP Human Capital platforms (SAP HCM ECC, SAP Success Factors and SAP Business Technology Platform, .
- Contribute to the strategic planning and architecture definition of Sanlam SAP Human Capital landscape.
- Understand and interpret the business processes for which the solution architecture is being developed.
- Influence business and IT strategies ensuring collaborative alignment.
- Contribute to building Sanlam SAP Human Capital technical and application roadmaps (both for on-prem and in the cloud).
- Active involvement and provide guidance in the SAP Human Capital landscape systems migration or upgrades
- Document the overall solution architecture and integration to other systems in-line with the Sanlam Enterprise and Solution Architecture standards and practices.
- Present solutions architecture to different Sanlam forums (including the Sanlam Architecture Solutions Evaluation & Review forum).
Qualification
- Matric
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- SAP SuccessFactors certifications, such as SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP SuccessFactors BizX modules, Platform Administration, etc. are desirable
Experience:
The successful person will undergo development in the Solution Architecture discipline, through training programs and certification courses to become a designated SAP Human Capital Solution Architect for Sanlam. The person must, however, have the following experience as an SAP SuccessFactors/SAP HCM functional resource, with a keen interest in diversifying into a Solution Architect:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in configuring and supporting SAP SuccessFactors modules including Employee Central, Performance and Goals, Recruiting, Onboarding, Succession and Development, Compensation, Learning, EC Payroll or Time Off. Knowledge of SAP HCM ECC modules such as Personal Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll.
- SAP SuccessFactors design and implementation experience in any of the following modules: Employee Central, Performance and Goals, Recruiting, Onboarding, Succession and Development, Compensation, Learning, EC Payroll and Time Off to align with organizational HC processes and requirements.
- Working knowledge of SAP HCM ECC6 modules such as Personal Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll.
- Knowledge of how Business Technology Platform (BTP) and CPI support integration and development.
- Managing and monitoring integrations between SAP SuccessFactors modules, replication to SAP ECC6, and third-party systems.
- Understand SAP architecture, design, configuration, implementation, testing and data governance, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be a subject matter expert on latest SAP development tools and provide expert technical advice to business analysts and business stakeholders in search of SAP system solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of IT Service Management principles and frameworks (., ITIL 4) and project & program management methodologies.
- Architecture frameworks (. TOGAF) will be advantageous
- Working knowledge of ABAP and SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 (to guide feasibility, not to develop)
- Knowledge of:
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- SAP Integration Suite, Web Services, API’s and other integration patterns.
