Support Engineer

General Summary

The successful candidate will provide essential support to engineering activities. Responsibilities include the installation and relocation of equipment, setting up various types of cabling such as coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics, maintaining and supporting lab equipment, and performing any other tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of engineering labs.

New Position

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out daily tasks as assigned by management to support the engineering team.
• Perform upgrades to software and hardware as required.
• Install coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics cabling.
• Build equipment racks and install devices, following rack elevation and wiring diagrams.
• Work according to priorities set by management and project leads.
• Assist with lab moves, as well as cleaning and organizational activities.

Required Competencies

• Proficiency in working with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Python
• Ability to follow instructions and utilize published documentation.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Exhibits strong customer service skills and effective time management.
• Capable of collaborating and maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Shows willingness to learn and flexibility in handling daily job assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• AI Agent–Assisted Software Development: Hands-on experience using one or more AI-assisted development agents within a modern software development workflow, such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or Claude Code, including applying them for code generation, refactoring, review, or debugging.
• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, including DNS and DHCP protocols.
• Advanced proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Formal electronics education, obtained through military or trade school training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as climbing ladders or running cables overhead.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds over short distances.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. OR
• Associate's degree and 1+ year of technical or related work experience. OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of technical or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$27.57 - $41.35

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
