Role Overview

  • The Audio-Visual AV Technician – Sound / Audio Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of audio production for live events, broadcasts, recordings, and digital media content. This includes setup, operation, mixing, editing, and maintenance of audio systems and equipment.
  • This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-level production environment. The ideal candidate is both technically proficient and creatively sensitive, with a strong commitment to excellence and alignment with the ministry’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and manage audio equipment for live services, broadcasts, recordings, and special events
  • Ensure high-quality sound output for in-person and online audiences
  • Mix and balance audio levels for microphones, instruments, and playback sources
  • Collaborate with production teams, musicians, and speakers to achieve optimal sound quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues quickly and efficiently
  • Perform sound checks and rehearsals to ensure readiness for all events
  • Record, edit, and mix audio content for digital media, broadcasts, and post-production
  • Maintain and organize audio equipment, ensuring proper functioning and upkeep
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in audio production

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in live sound, broadcast, or studio environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio systems, mixing consoles, microphones, and signal flow
  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar software
  • Experience with live streaming and broadcast audio production is highly desirable
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality sound
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and events
  • Experience in a ministry, church, or faith-based production environment is highly preferred
  • Personal alignment with the mission, values, and spiritual foundation of Bible Davids Ministries is essential
