About the role
Purpose of the Position
The main purpose of the position is the development of new business for motion control based solutions in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. As an Automation Sales Engineer, you’ll drive growth by identifying opportunities, developing customer relationships, and delivering tailored motion-control solutions to new and existing clients. Your technical expertise and consultative sales approach will help customers achieve their automation and productivity goals.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Five years’ experience in motion-control technical sales or electro-mechanical applications support.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Physics, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Experience selling motion-control products such as brushed and brushless permanent magnet motors and related drives (controllers) and gearing.
- In-depth knowledge of small form factor low voltage servo motors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow maxon and Parvalux product sales.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through prospecting and networking.
- Understand customer requirements and propose tailored automation solutions.
- Support prospects with application guidance for motion and automation systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and manufacturers to deliver customized motion solutions.
- Prepare proposals, technical presentations, and commercial offers.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs agreed upon with management.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and uphold Electromate’s 39+ year reputation for excellence.
- Build and maintain knowledge of Electromate’s general Product Portfolio.

Calgary, Alberta
Salary Range
$80,000 to $97,000; annual raise and bonus review
