Automation Security Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Tasks

• Proximity to the plant and direct collaboration with OT systems such as PLCs, Industrial Networks, and Control Systems – from planning to ongoing operation.
• Support in implementing OT security measures, e.g.:
  • Secure user and role concepts in TIA & WinCC
  • Hardening of PLCs, HMIs, and Engineering Stations
  • Clean separation of IT and OT networks (Profinet / Industrial Ethernet)
  • Secure remote access
  • Network segmentation
• Identification of risks in automation projects and support with practical solutions – with a focus on availability and operational safety.
• Close collaboration with automation, IT, and engineering teams to realize solutions that work in industrial everyday life.
• Selection of secure components and architectures and integration (together with engineering and operations teams) into existing and new plants.

What you bring

• Completed apprenticeship or degree in computer science, automation technology, or a comparable qualification.
• Practical experience in industrial automation.
• Basic to advanced understanding of OT security principles, e.g.:
  • Defense in Depth
  • Zones & Conduits Concepts
  • Threat Model
• Experience with security measures in industrial environments, e.g.:
  • User and role concepts in TIA & WinCC
  • Hardening of PLCs, HMIs, and Engineering Stations
  • Securing remote maintenance access
• Ability to identify and pragmatically assess risks in OT systems – with a focus on plant availability and safety.
• Basic understanding of relevant standards and regulations, especially:
  • IEC 62443
  • Machinery Directive
  • NIS2 / Cyber Resilience Act
• Good German and English language skills.
