About the role
About AVL MTC Motortestcenter AB
AVL MTC Motortestcenter AB offers a job in Sweden (SE) as an Automotive Software Engineer - AUTOSAR BSW.
Do you want to work with advanced AUTOSAR development, modern CI/CD environments, and integration of complex embedded platforms?
With us, you will have a central role in projects where you configure BSW modules, analyze ECU behavior, and work closely with system engineers and architects to build robust software platforms for the next generation of vehicles.
As part of our international Software team, you will work with everything from memory management and diagnostic stacks to HIL/SIL tests, runtime analysis, and stable integration flows – in projects that drive the development of future mobility forward.
Your Responsibilities:
In the role of Automotive Software Engineer – BSW, you will work closely with both software and system engineers to configure and generate AUTOSAR BSW modules using tools like Vector DaVinci and EB tresos, and ensure that these are integrated smoothly into our software platforms. You will work continuously in modern CI/CD environments with tools like Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, and Docker, and contribute to stable and scalable build and integration flows. An important part of the role is to support HIL/SIL testing and perform advanced troubleshooting using tools like Vector and Lauterbach Trace32, while analyzing runtime behavior, memory usage, and integration challenges directly on target ECUs. The work is done in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, where you will follow MBSE principles and agile working methods to ensure robust, optimized, and future-proof software solutions.
Your Profile:
We are looking for someone with a combination of technical skill, curiosity, and a strong desire to contribute to complex development projects.
You have:
- BSc/MSc in software, electrical engineering, or a similar field
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded development in bare metal or RTOS environments
- Good understanding of AUTOSAR methodology and associated tools
- Strong C programming skills with a focus on readable, scalable, and robust code
- Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, and Ethernet
- Experience developing and integrating CDDs and working with memory and diagnostic stacks
- Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English
Meritorious:
- Experience with functional safety and ASPICE
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR Software Component Description (SWCD)
- Competence in C++
- Valid driver's license B
As a person:
As a person, you thrive in technically complex environments where you can combine problem-solving with structured and analytical work. You are curious, driven, and have a natural ability to see the big picture of a software platform, while not hesitating to dive into details when needed. You appreciate collaboration and knowledge exchange in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly and without pretense. Furthermore, you have a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach that allows you to navigate effectively between requirements, deadlines, and technical challenges.
We Offer:
At AVL, you become part of a global technology company at the forefront of development, simulation, and testing in the future of mobility. As the world's largest independent player in the field, with over 12,000 employees internationally, we drive innovation for a greener, safer, and better world of mobility.
Our focus spans the entire value chain – from early idea and concept phases to industrialization and series production. We work with advanced technologies in electrification, software, autonomous driving, digitalization, and energy-efficient powertrains, helping our customers shape the future of mobility solutions.
With us, you get a workplace where you can grow, influence, and be part of driving technological development forward – making a real difference for the future of mobility!
