Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Engineering Ops Lead (AWS + Application Support) to ensure AWS platforms and customer-facing applications are highly available, observable, secure, recoverable, and cost-efficient. This role focuses on making operational processes seamless so that on-call teams can respond effectively and releases remain stable and predictable.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage AWS operations including EC2, EKS, RDS, ALB/CloudFront, IAM/OIDC, and networking (VPC, TGW, Security Groups)
- Support application releases including readiness checks, smoke testing, and rollback strategies
- Build and maintain observability systems (dashboards, logs, metrics, traces, alerts)
- Own backup and disaster recovery including policies, retention, cross-region replication, and restore testing
- Lead incident management (Sev-1/2), ensuring clear communication and effective resolution
- Drive cost optimization through tagging, right-sizing, RI/SP coverage, and lifecycle management
- Develop runbooks, automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational efficiency
- Maintain security best practices including least-privilege access and credential rotation
- Ensure production readiness and stability across AWS environments
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of experience in cloud and application operations
- Strong hands-on expertise in AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, CloudFront, IAM, VPC)
- Experience in monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and validation
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and infrastructure design
- Experience leading incidents and managing production environments
Preferred Skills
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification
- Networking certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)
- ITIL Certification
