Location: Princeton NJ (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to lead and execute AWS cloud implementations, including greenfield builds, migrations, and modernization initiatives. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing secure, scalable AWS environments aligned to enterprise standards and best practices.
This role will work closely with architects, application teams, security, and operations to deliver AWS platforms that are production-ready, automated, and supportable.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Cloud Implementation & Delivery
- Design and implement AWS environments including accounts, VPCs, networking, security baselines, and shared services
- Build AWS Landing Zones using AWS Control Tower or custom frameworks
- Execute cloud migrations (re-host, re-platform, re-factor) from on-prem or other clouds to AWS
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery architectures across Availability Zones and Regions
- Deploy and configure core AWS services:
- EC2, Auto Scaling, ALB/NLB
- EBS, EFS, S3, FSx
- RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB
- IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager
- CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Develop and maintain IaC templates using:
- AWS CloudFormation
- Terraform (preferred)
- Automate environment provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
- Reduce manual effort through scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Security & Compliance Implementation
- Implement AWS security best practices including:
- IAM role-based access and least privilege
- Network segmentation and security groups
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- Centralized logging and monitoring
- Support compliance requirements (ISO, SOC, PCI, HIPAA – as applicable)
- Integrate with enterprise identity providers (AD, Azure AD, SSO)
Operations Readiness & Handover
- Ensure solutions are operationally ready:
- Monitoring & alerting
- Backup and restore
- Patch and vulnerability management
- Create implementation documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
- Support transition to BAU operations and L1/L2 teams
Advanced (L3 Focus)
- Perform performance tuning and cost optimization (FinOps practices)
- Resolve complex AWS incidents and platform issues
- Review and approve AWS designs and implementations by junior engineers
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers on AWS technologies and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 5–8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
- 3–5+ years hands-on AWS implementation experience
Strong expertise in:
- AWS Networking (VPC, TGW, VPN, Direct Connect)
- IAM, security controls, and governance
- IaC (Terraform / CloudFormation)
- Linux and/or Windows server administration in AWS
- Experience with migration tools:
- AWS Migration Hub
- AWS DMS
- Application migration methodologies
DevOps & Tooling
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional
- AWS SysOps Administrator
- Terraform Associate (nice to have)
Soft Skills
- Strong implementation ownership and delivery mindset
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-project environments
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with customers, architects, and stakeholders

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $80000 to $100000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity
