Job Summary

As an Azure Managed Services Engineer, you will design, deploy, and support enterprise file storage solutions in Microsoft Azure, focusing on Qumulo file storage and Azure Storage services. You will collaborate closely with customers and teams to ensure secure, high-performing, scalable, and cost-effective storage platforms. We are looking for someone with Azure storage expertise, operational discipline, and a passion for customer service and continuous improvement.

This is a fully remote role, requiring a dedicated home office and participation in video meetings, with occasional travel as needed.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support Qumulo file storage clusters in Azure.
  • Administer Azure Storage services, including Azure Files, Blob Storage, and Managed Disks.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to storage performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Optimize storage environments for performance, resiliency, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead managed services projects and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Engage directly with customers through meetings, incidents, change requests, and project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for storage operations.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting through Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation for repeatable deployments.
  • Keep accurate documentation and track your work in SHI systems.
  • Participate in audits, compliance activities, and a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Escalate complex issues and collaborate with senior engineers as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Skill Requirements

  • Proficient in Qumulo file storage and Azure services.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Infrastructure as Code knowledge using Terraform and/or ARM/Bicep.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI for automation.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and access control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in managed services or Azure engineering.
  • Proven experience in supporting production Azure storage environments.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps.
  • Up to 10% travel annually, occasional overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to meet utilization targets set by leadership.
  • Must pass a CJIS background check upon hire and annually thereafter.

Certifications

  • Microsoft Azure Associate-level certification (AZ-104 or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • ITIL v3+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale or performance-sensitive file workloads.
  • Familiarity with IT Glue, Autotask, Datto RMM, and documentation tools.
  • Background in monitoring, alerting, and automation practices.
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., CJIS, FERPA).

The estimated annual compensation for this position ranges from $125,000 to $155,000, including base salary and bonuses/commissions, depending on your experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
