Application Support Engineer (Spring / Kubernetes / Azure)

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Application Support Engineer to provide L2/L3 production support for modern cloud-based applications. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills across Spring-based applications, Kubernetes environments, and Azure cloud services.

You will be responsible for ensuring system stability, resolving production issues, and improving observability across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Spring Boot applications in a cloud-native environment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across Kubernetes clusters and microservices
• Investigate and fix memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and application failures
• Handle failover scenarios, system outages, and incident management
• Work with Terraform for infrastructure support and environment consistency
• Manage storage accounts and secret rotation in secure environments
• Perform SQL DB dumps, data validation, and recovery activities
• Execute and maintain batch jobs (AutoSys or similar schedulers)
• Develop and maintain Python and Shell scripts for automation and support tasks
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams for root cause analysis and permanent fixes
• Monitoring & Observability
• Work with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor for system monitoring
• Implement and support observability frameworks based on:
  • Metrics
  • Logs
  • Traces (3 pillars of observability)
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry concepts
• Exposure to monitoring platforms like Datadog

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Spring Boot / Java-based applications support
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, debugging, logs)
• Strong knowledge of Linux commands and server-level troubleshooting
• Experience with Azure Cloud (Azure Monitoring, storage, services)
• Knowledge of Kafka / Azure Kafka (Event streaming troubleshooting)
• Experience in handling production incidents and critical support environments
• Good understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure tools like Terraform
• Strong debugging skills for memory leaks and performance tuning
