Backend Developer (APIs & Integrations Focus) – Remote (India)

We are building the MVP of an AI-powered travel platform and are looking for a Backend Developer to support API integrations and backend service development for both our mobile app and website.

This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, responsible, and eager to grow in a fast-paced startup environment , with the ability to execute tasks under guidance while contributing to a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

1. APIs & Integrations (Primary Focus)

Integrate third-party APIs (travel, payments, etc.)

Consume and build RESTful APIs

Handle authentication, error handling, retries, and edge cases

Normalize and structure data from multiple external services

Ensure reliability and performance of integrations

Provide basic technical documentation for integrations

2. Backend Development

Develop and maintain backend services for mobile and web applications

Design efficient API endpoints

Implement business logic and data processing

Support system performance and stability

3. Cloud & Infrastructure (Secondary Focus)

Work with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) to support scalable architecture

Assist in deployment, environment setup, and release workflows

Support logging, monitoring, and performance tracking

Contribute to system reliability and scalability

4. Full Stack Support (Secondary)

Support frontend integration when needed (React Native)

Connect frontend components with backend services

Assist in end-to-end debugging

5. Database Management

Design and optimize data models

Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

Apply security best practices

6. Collaboration

Work under the guidance of the Lead Developer and collaborate with the Product and QA teams

Support backend and integration bug fixing

Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution

Contribute to continuous improvement of the system

Technical Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Backend or Full Stack Developer

Strong backend development experience (Node.js preferred)

Experience integrating third-party APIs (REST, authentication, error handling)

Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

Experience with Git and version control workflows

Basic to intermediate experience with React Native

Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

Nice to Have

Experience working with AI-powered applications or API-driven platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar)

Experience with travel, booking, or marketplace platforms

Experience working in startup or MVP environments

Familiarity with microservices architecture

Experience handling API rate limits, caching, and performance optimization
