Backend Developer

Salary Range: ₦400,000 – ₦600,000 gross per month

Summary of the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled .NET Backend Developer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that power our core applications and services. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong foundation in backend development and a thorough understanding of our technology stack, which includes .NET Core 7/8, MongoDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Microservices.

Key Responsibilities • Develop clean, scalable, testable, and well-documented code using .NET Core and C#. • Engage in all sprint activities, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives. • Transform application storyboards and use cases into functional applications. • Revise, update, refactor, and debug existing applications to enhance performance and scalability. • Leverage expertise in Java, Python, and Node.js to contribute to backend services and cross-platform integrations. • Collaborate closely with DevOps to ensure backend systems maintain high availability, scalability, and security. • Work with frontend engineers to design and implement robust RESTful APIs. • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to application development in line with industry standards. • Diagnose and resolve production issues as they arise. • Ensure seamless integration of backend services within a microservices architecture. • Uphold code quality through peer reviews and adherence to best practices.

Qualification & Experience • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ASP.NET/ASP.NET Core, REST API development, MongoDB, Java, Python, and Node.js. • Familiarity with RabbitMQ or Kafka for messaging and event-driven architecture. • Experience in developing and maintaining a microservices architecture. • Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM. • Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices. • Capability to provide technical input for designs, functional specifications, and project requirements. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
