Search Backend Engineer

About

As a Search Backend Engineer, you will develop and operate high-performance search systems that efficiently index and make millions of products searchable. You will solve complex technical challenges, scale systems for global markets, and measurably increase the relevance of search results. You will work closely together in a team on a modular, high-performance search architecture.

Responsibilities

• Building performant search infrastructure and secure data streams
• Optimization of search results
• Scaling for multiple international markets
• Contribution to a modular architecture

For this task and collaboration in both national and international environments, very good German and good English skills are necessary.

The employment is permanent and full-time at the location in northern Baden-Württemberg. Working from home (remote/home office) is established with our client and is practiced by arrangement about 3 days a week. Regular or necessary travel is not expected.

Education

You have completed a degree in a STEM field or a comparably high-quality education with professionally valuable further training.

Skills

• Software Engineering, specifically Services and API development
• Programming languages such as Python, JAVA or C#
• Search technologies such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
• Fluent communication in German and English

Experience

• At least 3 years in the backend area
• At least 2 years in building scalable APIs
• At least 1 year with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch

For this role, it is equally important that you appear technically and professionally competent. For this, you must bring project methodological experience in addition to technical skills. Trained social competence will help you work in a team. Thanks to your flexibility and healthy self-assessment, you always have your tasks under control, even with increased workload. Location

Your work location is in the Heilbronn / Schwäbisch Hall region, with approx. 2-3 days per week in home office.
