About

As a Search Backend Engineer (m/f/d), you will develop and operate high-performance search systems that efficiently index and make millions of products searchable. You will solve complex technical challenges, scale systems for global markets, and measurably increase the relevance of search results. You will work closely with a team on a modular, high-performance search architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of data structures
• Conception of query strategies
• Building performant search infrastructure and secure data streams
• Optimization of search results
• Scaling for multiple international markets
• Contribution to a modular architecture

Requirements

• You have completed a degree in a STEM field or a comparably high-quality education with professionally valuable further training.
• Software Engineering, specifically Services and API development
• Programming languages like Python, JAVA or C#
• Search technologies like Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
• Database technology SQL/NoSQL
• Cloud infrastructure (CI/CD, DevOps, etc.)
• Fluent communication in German and English

Experience

• At least 3 years in backend
• At least 2 years building scalable APIs
• At least 1 year with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch

Location

Your place of work is in Berlin or in the Heilbronn / Schwäbisch Hall region, with 3 days per week in home office.

Employment Details

The employment is permanent and full-time at the location in northern Baden-Württemberg. Working from home (remote/home office) is established with our client and practiced by arrangement about 3 days a week. Regular or necessary travel is not expected.
