About the role

Role Overview: You will be working as a Senior Backend Engineer in an International Price Engine transformation project, which involves replacing legacy SMART pricing with a near real-time, cloud-native pricing platform. This role requires hands-on involvement in backend development, event-driven integration, audit parity, pilot support, and production rollouts. Qualifications Required: Technical Skills: - Minimum 7 years of backend development experience. - Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. - Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures. - Experience in building cloud-native systems, with preference for Azure. - Strong experience with Azure SQL and relational data modeling. - Ability to integrate legacy systems with modern cloud platforms.

System & Delivery Experience: - Experience in supporting high-volume, real-time transactional systems. - Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and production support skills. - Experience in supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), pilots, and production rollouts. - Comfortable working across development, testing, and operational phases.

Nice to Have: - Experience in the retail, pricing, or merchandising domain. - Familiarity with SMART and Price Engine. - Exposure to Digital Shelf Labels (DSL). - Knowledge of international pricing, tax rules, or multi-market systems. - Experience in performance and resiliency testing.
