Backend Java Senior Engineer - Leon

About the project

You will be part of a high-impact technological project within a critical and demanding environment, where quality, security, and scalability are key. You will work in a senior, collaborative technical team with well-established best practices, in a 60% remote work model, with a work center in Leon.

What you'll do

• Design and develop robust and scalable backend services in Java.
• Create, maintain, and optimize REST APIs and integration flows.
• Work with relational databases, mainly PostgreSQL.
• Implement messaging and streaming solutions with Kafka.
• Apply unit testing and methodologies like TDD and BDD to ensure code quality.
• Guide and technically support junior profiles, providing vision and best practices.
• Actively collaborate in agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).

What will make you successful in the role

• More than 5 years of experience as a backend developer.
• Proficiency in Java 8 or higher and Spring.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Knowledge and real experience in unit testing, TDD, and BDD.
• Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Use and implementation of Kafka.
• Experience working in agile environments.
• English level B2 or higher.
• Analytical skills, quality orientation, and teamwork.

Valued skills

• Degree in Computer Engineering or similar.
• At least 2 years of experience with Quarkus.
• Knowledge of Clean Code and SOLID principles.
• Use of quality tools such as SonarQube or similar.
• Basic knowledge of Docker.
• Certifications in agile methodologies or Java technologies.
