Backend Software Engineer (all genders) – Python & APIs | Medical Technology

What You'll Do

• Develop efficient backend solutions in Python (3.x) and accompany them from idea to productive use
• Conceive and implement high-performance REST interfaces – cleanly structured, robust, and reliable
• Ensure optimal data processing and storage with SQLite as well as optionally MySQL or NoSQL
• Translate complex requirements into well-thought-out, scalable system architectures according to modern development standards
• Analyze existing applications and bring them to a new level in terms of performance and stability
• Establish quality through automated tests and support the continuous integration and deployment process
• Actively participate in tests, validations, and quality assurance measures
• Document your work comprehensibly and in compliance with regulations in the regulated medical technology environment

What You Bring

• Possess a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Medical Technology, or comparable experience
• Have several years of practical experience in Python development and work confidently in the backend environment
• Have experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or SQLAlchemy and use them purposefully
• Are familiar with database systems and know how to structure and process data efficiently
• Understand software architectures and design principles and implement them in everyday work
• Develop scalable APIs that remain performant and maintainable in the long term
• Have initial contact with container technologies and CI/CD processes
• Work routinely with Git and modern development workflows
• Communicate confidently in German in a professional environment
