Your Daily Life

At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales's most important technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize know-how in over 80 professions in high-tech defense and security solutions and digital services.

Within an offers team of 5 people, including 2 for the Brest part, you will be in charge of managing and carrying out offers for a Business Line in coordination with the offers referents in the relevant discipline poles.

Your Responsibilities

  • Structuring and mastering the offers process as defined under Chorus (Thales repository)
  • Capturing needs during the kick-off review with your stakeholders in the domain (Offers Manager) and establishing an applicable input data repository to develop a solution that meets the need
  • Defining with the disciplines the engineering activities necessary to meet the need (identifying deliverables, milestones, and interdependencies with the various work packages) and developing the costing strategy that meets the market target and the development plan corresponding to the master schedule
  • Developing the risk and opportunity register for the engineering disciplines scope, organizing and coordinating the solution orientation review and design validation in coordination with the Design Authority
  • Verifying and validating the costing elements provided by the teams (assumptions, exclusions, schedule, development & IVV strategy, technical content)
  • Preparing the validation of the offer construction during the departmental offer review (RECC) before transmitting it to the Bid team
  • Carrying out the "hand-over" when an offer is won
  • Facilitating collaborative work between teams and stakeholders
  • Leading the team and/or suppliers involved in offer development, ensuring compliance with all commitments and challenging costs to meet the target
  • Capitalizing and sharing knowledge and assets dedicated to the discipline
  • Applying the product policy in offers
  • Contributing to the competitiveness and improvement of offers
  • Working on cross-functional projects with the offers team and the Engineering Delivery team to support maturity development and gain efficiency (capitalization, data collection sheets,...)

Your Profile

  • You are a graduate of an engineering school (Electronics, Aeronautics / Space, IT…),
  • You have significant experience in one of the following positions: Engineering Manager, Technical Project Manager, Software Engineering Manager (SwEM) or Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), on complex engineering systems, ideally in the defense sector.
  • Experience in carrying out technical offers in these fields is a plus.
  • The entity's disciplines require knowledge of upstream and downstream system engineering methods (IVVQ), and engineering cycles in general.
  • Offer activity requires knowledge of engineering solution analysis and costing methods, and capitalization principles.
  • You are capable of leading and managing technical engineering projects by meeting requirements with a clear vision of the applicable scope and risks and opportunities.
  • You know how to verify the technical deliverables of engineering teams (customer needs, requirements, architecture choices...)
  • You are able to engage and influence a diverse set of stakeholders around clear and achievable objectives.
  • You are capable of making decisions, even in uncertain contexts.
