Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a large, established organization in the scientific, environmental, and laboratory services sector (confidential) to hire a Bilingual Recruiter on a contract basis. This role has been created in response to peak‑season hiring demands, particularly to support a high volume of recruitment in Québec.
You’ll be joining a collaborative recruitment team during a busy and impactful period, supporting hiring across operational, scientific, and technical roles. This opportunity is ideal for a recruiter who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments and is comfortable owning full‑cycle recruitment end to end.
The role is fully onsite at one of the organization’s Canadian offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment for a diverse range of roles across Canada, with a strong focus on Québec
- Handle approximately 30 requisitions simultaneously within a high‑volume hiring environment
- Recruit for scientific, environmental, laboratory, and operational roles, including supervisors, managers, and entry‑level positions
- Support hiring managers through job intake, candidate selection, interview coordination, and offer processes
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies to attract both active and passive candidates across multiple markets
- Partner closely with junior recruiters and the broader talent acquisition team to meet hiring targets
- Utilize an enterprise ATS to manage candidate pipelines, workflow, and reporting
- Maintain a strong candidate experience while meeting aggressive hiring timelines
What You Need to Succeed
- 3+ years of high‑volume, full‑cycle recruitment experience
- Bilingual in French and English (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to manage ~30 requisitions concurrently
- Experience recruiting across multiple Canadian provinces
- Strong sourcing skills using job boards, LinkedIn, and other recruitment platforms
- Demonstrated success hiring for a mix of technical, scientific, and operational roles
- Ability to work independently without the need for close oversight or micromanagement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Workday or a similar enterprise ATS is a strong asset
- Experience recruiting for both union and non‑union environments is considered an asset
What’s in It for You
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a busy, high‑impact contract role during a peak recruitment season with a respected organization operating across Canada. You’ll gain exposure to large‑scale hiring operations, strengthen your stakeholder partnerships, and build experience recruiting within a specialized scientific and laboratory environment.
For the right person, there is potential for extension or a permanent opportunity beyond the initial contract.
