Job Summary
We are looking to fill an existing vacancy for a Billing Compliance Analyst to support the Billing Compliance team with day-to-day operational activities, including data maintenance, system updates, accrual support and administrative tasks related to billing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal teams to ensure billing and matter management information is accurate, complete and updated in a timely manner.
This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Billing Compliance team with day-to-day operational and administrative activities
- Complete address updates and system data corrections as needed to maintain accurate records
- Assist with new matter opening clean up by reviewing notification emails and responding to internal requests
- Prepare accrual responses by gathering, organizing and compiling the required information
- Liaise with Billing, Finance and other internal teams to investigate and resolve data or system discrepancies
- Perform data entry, validation and clean-up activities across internal systems to support data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare and distribute the firm’s daily foreign exchange email
- Assist with rate submissions through electronic billing platforms and help resolve related issues with clients and vendors
- Support the set up and maintenance of client and matter rates, budgets and special fee arrangements in the accounting system, third party billing platforms and the Alternative Fee Arrangement database
- Monitor and respond to inquiries related to billing rates, special arrangements and external counsel guidelines through the billing intake mailbox
- Maintain and update training materials and process documentation related to billing rates and special billing arrangements
- Provide support on client and matter billing initiatives, as well as other pricing related projects, as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, accounting or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in billing, finance operations or administrative support would be considered an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data management and analysis
- Experience with financial or billing systems, including Aderant and eBilling platforms, is preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with numerical data, while maintaining efficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to audiences with varying levels of subject matter knowledge
- Comfortable working with, and synthesizing, large data sets from multiple systems
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across accounting, finance and other business units.
- Ability to perform in a fast paced, evolving environment and adapt effectively to changing priorities and business needs
- Proactive and solution oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
Salary Range
The expected starting salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
