BIM Modeler (Building Services)

An established consulting engineering firm based in Durbanville is seeking a BIM Modeler (Building Services) to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating detailed 3D models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across a range of building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for building services (HVAC, electrical, wet services, and fire systems)
• Produce accurate drawings, layouts, and schedules from BIM models
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural disciplines to ensure clash-free designs
• Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues using BIM tools
• Work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure models reflect design intent and project requirements
• Update models in line with design changes and revisions
• Ensure compliance with company BIM standards and project protocols
• Assist in the preparation of as-built models and documentation

Requirements

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant draughting qualification
• Experience in BIM modelling within a consulting engineering environment
• Strong experience in building services (MEP) modelling
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
• Good understanding of construction processes and building services systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and coordination skills
