About the role

About

Drive the Future of Clinical Development. Every day, we rise to the challenge of making a meaningful difference. As our Technical Innovation & Solutions Lead, you will be the catalyst for technological transformation within Biometry. You will bridge the gap between advanced data science and strategic clinical operations to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions.

The Role & Your Impact

  • Hands-on Engineering & Development
  • Design and develop high-end reports and interactive applications using R and R Shiny to support clinical trial monitoring, planned analyses, and deep-dive data exploration.
  • Identify and implement technical innovations, leading initiatives from initial Proof of Concept (PoC) to full business adoption, ensuring measurable value and increased efficiency.

Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Drive the continuous improvement of technical processes and workflows in close collaboration with Biometry leadership.
  • Establish and champion "best-in-class" practices for coding standards, version control, and automation.
  • Serve as the Business Owner for the Posit platform, ensuring our infrastructure remains cutting-edge by staying ahead of emerging technologies in Data Science.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Clinical Science, Data Management, and Biostatistics to prioritize high-impact technical initiatives.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to IT for all Biometry innovation topics.
  • Champion the adoption of modern programming languages (e.g., R, Python) and mentor the team through targeted training and knowledge sharing.

Leadership & People Development

Lead and inspire a dedicated team of technical specialists (R/Shiny developers, data scientists, and statistical programmers) focused on innovation.

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for a strategic thinker who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty with code. The ideal candidate brings:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Industry Expertise: 8+ years of experience within a pharmaceutical environment or CRO.
  • Proven ability to oversee statistical analyses using clinical trial data (SDTM and ADaM) with a firm grasp of regulatory-compliant processes.
  • Expert-level R programming (far beyond the basics of dplyr and ggplot2).
  • Proven track record in building professional-grade Shiny applications for clinical visualization and review.
  • Proficiency in creating reproducible research via RMarkdown and/or Quarto.

Strategic Leadership

  • 3+ years of experience leading complex technical projects.
  • The authority to act as a technical lead: challenging requirements, managing trade-offs, and defending innovative approaches to IT and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS) is a significant plus.
  • Advanced English proficiency with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

What We Offer

  • Top-Tier Culture: A friendly, collaborative atmosphere
  • Up to 2 days per week of remote work.
  • Growth: Extensive global development opportunities within an international industry leader.
