Boeing’s Precision Engagement Systems organization in Saint Charles, MO, produces precision‑guided weapons for the United States and more than 30 allied countries, supporting Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) missions.
Role Overview
The Experienced Embedded Software Engineer will work with a multi‑discipline engineering team to design and develop real‑time embedded software solutions for Direct Attack weapons (e.g., JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC) and Cruise Missiles (e.g., SLAM‑ER, Harpoon). The role spans all phases of the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment and includes implementing applications, creating models and simulations, deploying DevOps methodologies, developing support tools, and maintaining software configurations.
Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi‑discipline engineering team to create and implement Operational Flight Program software solutions.
- Contribute in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an Agile development environment.
- Develop solutions using Ada, C#, and Python.
- Test software and assist with system‑level testing to verify correct functionality.
- Analyze problem reports and troubleshoot software defects.
- Develop leadership skills and gain experience working directly with United States Air Force and Navy customers.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- 3 years of experience in real‑time embedded software development.
- 3 years of experience developing software using object‑oriented principles.
- 3 years of experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
- Active U.S. Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Experience with Ada, Python, or C#.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Experience with Git or a similar version‑control system.
- Experience developing and tracing software requirements.
