Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the organization’s financial and overall health. You will help us streamline bookkeeping processes and produce precise financial reports. Duties

  • Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as The Construction Manager, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across all financial accounts.
  • Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect all financial transactions accurately.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify the integrity of financial data.
  • Support payroll processing, tax filings, and the employee 401 (k) program.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, job costing, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain inventory in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Assist with purchasing.
  • Assist with insurance administration, including health insurance, general insurance, and workers compensation.
  • Assist with human resource administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting or small business accounting environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as The Construction Manager, QuickBooks, or similar tools is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing (Paychex), tax experience, and budget management is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills, typing efficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
