Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Budget Accountant / Accounting Analyst to support financial operations in a highly analytical healthcare environment. This role focuses on budgeting, financial analysis, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance, with potential for long-term conversion based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex accounting analysis using accounting principles and independent judgment
  • Prepare and analyze contractual adjustments, charity care, and bad debt reports
  • Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements
  • Maintain annual budgets, cost analysis, and financial reporting
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Interpret and communicate financial regulations and compliance standards
  • Evaluate accounting processes and recommend operational improvements
  • Collaborate with auditors, consultants, and leadership teams
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions including Pivot Tables and formulas

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with Accounting concentration
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience involving budgeting, analysis, or financial statements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Must provide transcripts showing accounting coursework and degree obtained
