Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Budget Accountant / Accounting Analyst to support financial operations in a highly analytical healthcare environment. This role focuses on budgeting, financial analysis, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance, with potential for long-term conversion based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting analysis using accounting principles and independent judgment
- Prepare and analyze contractual adjustments, charity care, and bad debt reports
- Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements
- Maintain annual budgets, cost analysis, and financial reporting
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns
- Interpret and communicate financial regulations and compliance standards
- Evaluate accounting processes and recommend operational improvements
- Collaborate with auditors, consultants, and leadership teams
- Utilize advanced Excel functions including Pivot Tables and formulas
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with Accounting concentration
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience involving budgeting, analysis, or financial statements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Must provide transcripts showing accounting coursework and degree obtained
