Position Summary
Center for Family Services is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst with knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial and business analysis. This individual will track and analyze revenue and expenses by program at the fund source level monthly and effectively use accounting systems and tools to complete their work functions efficiently. The Budget Analyst communicates with the Director of Finance and Supervisors on a regular basis, analyzes and implements processes for developing and monitoring program budgets, supports programs, provides outstanding customer service in all agency interactions, and has strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Job Status: Full Time
- Salary: $62,000 to $65,000 per year
- Sign‑On Bonus: $500 eligible upon hire
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in tracking all financial transactions impacting the organization, preparing, and monitoring financial forecasts to ensure expenditures are within budget constraints, accurately recording, appropriately classifying, and reconciling transactions by account.
- Support fiscal operation management by developing and monitoring appropriate fiscal policy and implementing procedures suitable to program and agency budgetary needs.
- Demonstrate consistent initiative, including problem solving, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing innovative solutions while exercising effective time‑management skills.
- Prepare journal entries and funding allocation modifications as needed.
- Prepare budget‑vs‑actual variance analyses; investigate anomalies and unexplained variances in both budget and actuals.
- Commit to personal and collective professional development and participate in continuing professional development opportunities.
- Conduct interactions with staff, colleagues, and funding sources as a role model, displaying ethical behavior and respecting confidentiality of clients and staff in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2–3 years of experience working with budgets and expense reports.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software; intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion.
- Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to convey complex information in a straightforward, professional manner.
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Accounting software is a plus.
