Systems Specialist

Job Summary

Insight Global is hiring a Systems Specialist to support a large client. In this role, you will handle system start-ups, checkouts, and troubleshooting for installed projects. You’ll also be responsible for providing guidance to contractors and directing subcontractors as needed. Acting as a key point of contact with customers, you will help maintain strong client relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on field role, typically working at commercial, industrial, and institutional construction sites or occupied facilities. The position is 100% field-based with travel throughout the Toronto (GTA) area.

Required Skills & Experience

• Requires three years of college or technical school (electrical, mechanical, or control engineering) or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience
• 2+ years of direct experience working with Building Automation Systems, (Candidates with less experience will also be considered).
• BAS programming
• Commissioning and start-ups
• Communication Protocols: BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, MSTP
• Good knowledge of building systems and relevant standards
• Proven diagnostic skills; able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
• Self-motivated and calm under pressure
• Commercially and technically aware
• IT literate
• A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver’s license is required to participate in the Fleet Program and to operate a company vehicle for travel to customer sites within assigned region

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of building mechanical systems; and understanding of the Building Code as it pertains to automation
