Role Overview
The IT Business Analyst supports Business Applications project leads in planning, designing, developing, and launching efficient business systems that support core organizational functions and processes. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data for business cases, projects, and system requirements, as well as generating reports with probable causes and solutions to system issues.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and system goals; identify and resolve system issues.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop strategies for improvement or further leveraging.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measurement actions.
Acquisition and Deployment
- Collaborate in planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.
- Perform cost‑benefit and return‑on‑investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management decisions.
Operations Management
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems.
- Develop and configure reports to improve financial reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in‑house computing systems.
- Coordinate and perform in‑depth tests, including end‑user reviews, for modified and new systems; provide post‑implementation support.
- Provide orientation and training to end‑users for all modified and new systems.
- Learn, design, and build reporting using proprietary tools and third‑party solutions.
- Review query performance and optimize where required.
- Assess and amend errors in a timely fashion.
- Provide status reports as required.
- Work with and assist project teams on implementation or upgrades of new and existing business solutions.
Work Experience
- Required: 3+ years’ experience in deployment and support of Oracle Fusion, software systems implementations, and global environments (cloud, hosted, and on‑premise platforms).
Knowledge Required
- Proven experience overseeing design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions for Oracle Fusion.
- Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in reporting software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
- Experience in operation and analysis of database hardware, software, standards, and data retrieval methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Flexible and adaptable in learning new technologies and solutions.
- Demonstrated project management skills; Business Analysis and Project Management Fundamentals training or PMP designation an asset.
- Fluent English language skills.
