Business Analyst - Financial Reporting - Traineeship

About this role

At Projective Group Talent, we offer an exceptional career experience in Financial Services. We support and coach you in developing new skills and progressing in your career, whether as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or in a leading role.

In this role as Business Analyst Financial Reporting, you will take a key role in the analysis and implementation of business‑driven and regulatory changes within financial reporting systems and processes. You will work in a complex and highly regulated environment, supporting finance and reporting teams in delivering accurate, consistent, and compliant reporting.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team operating in a dynamic context where data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance are essential.

Your Tasks

  • Collect, analyse, and understand business and regulatory requirements related to financial and regulatory reporting (e.g. IFRS, FINREP, COREP, ESG)
  • Translate these needs into documented use cases, including detailed business and data requirements
  • Perform impact analyses and support the definition of solutions that meet both business objectives and regulatory standards
  • Act as a bridge between finance, business, and IT, translating requirements into functional analyses and data flow designs
  • Contribute to data definitions, mappings, and data quality rules supporting financial and regulatory reports
  • Create and document test cases and gather relevant test data to support functional and user acceptance testing
  • Support end users during acceptance testing, coordinate defect resolution, and ensure a smooth transition to production
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and user manuals related to reporting processes
  • Continuously deepen and broaden your expertise in financial, IFRS, and regulatory reporting domains

Requirements

  • Master's degree in (Business) Economics, Business Engineering, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business analysis, change delivery, or banking‑related role
  • Strong interest in financial and regulatory reporting; knowledge of IFRS, FINREP, COREP, ESG, or similar frameworks is a strong asset
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL and strong analytical tooling skills (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Cognos or similar)
  • Analytical mindset with a strong focus on data accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Proactive, self‑organising, and comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate complex regulatory and data topics into clear insights for stakeholders
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a strong asset

Our Offer

  • A competitive salary and a flexible mobility budget (including the option of a company car or bike leasing)
  • Meal and eco vouchers, an individual training budget, and bonus opportunities because we believe great work should be rewarded
  • Entry into one of our Smart Programmes, based on where you are in your career and where you want to grow
  • A tailored client match based on your skills, ambitions, and personality
  • Coaching throughout your journey by your very own Talent Development Officer, someone who's genuinely there to help you thrive
  • After two years of growth, learning, and real impact, you'll have the chance to join your client permanently. And don't worry—we're looking forward to welcoming you at one of our regular alumni events
