Job Description
The Dept of Health Professionals (DHP) is seeking a Business Analyst to assist the agency in developing requirements for an SOW for a new IT Application. This hybrid work arrangement will require three days on site and two days remote (this can change if the project evolves).
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts project initiation activities to identify current and future state requirements.
- Works with business and Information Systems staff to determine needs and produce Requirements Definition document that completely and clearly defines the requirements within the established timeframe.
- Ensures documented requirements are clear, concise, complete, and meet established agency guidelines and standards.
- Assists with the development of applicable processes and templates as needed and directed by project leadership to ensure documentation is in a standard, easy to use, and repeatable format.
- Assist DHP’s Procurement team to translate requirements that will be incorporated into a Statement of Work (SOW).
Required skills and experience
- Four years of experience in COTS apps/platforms, extensive experience in business analysis, requirements documentation, system development life cycle (SDLC), and agile application development.
- Two years of experience in SaaS applications and platforms.
- Eight years of experience in the following:
- Extensive experience defining and documents user requirements from multiple sources, with the ability to prepare complex documents too effectively
- Extensive experience defining and documenting business processes and mapping or developing processes in a new system.
- Experience conducting meetings and documenting project decisions.
- Ability to successfully participate in a project team, help foster a team environment, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with COTS applications and migrating to a Low‑Code software as Service (SaaS) application. (highly desired)
- Experience/knowledge with the VITA Procurement process or similar experience. (not required but nice to have)
- General knowledge of VITA and their governance of agencies such as DHP. (not required but nice to have)
- Experience/knowledge of professional licensure such as medical licenses. (not required but nice to have)
Location
Henrico, VA (Hybrid; 3 days on site/2 days remote)
Compensation
$95-100k/year with benefits
